Black life was demolished in the capital

Building workers began to dismantle the Black Lives Matter square near the White House on Monday after Republicans threats to reduce transport financing if the square is not renamed.

“You can dig concrete, but you cannot erase history,” said Diane Bradley, a resident of the capital.

Democrat Morel Boser changed the name of the square in 2020 to the Black Life Plaza, a reprimand of President Trump, who deployed thousands of federal forces to the city to confront people protesting the killing of George Floyd by a police officer.

The local chapter of the Black Lives Matter Global Network has been criticized, which it described as “distraction from real policy changes.”
